Invitation: Meet our new tokenomics focused research platform and give us feedback
We are launching an online platform that presents tokenomics data in a more accessible format. Please give us feedback so we can make this portal super relevant and valuable for YOU!
What’s this about?
You are (most likely) subscribed to our substack because of the high-quality tokenomics research articles we publish regularly. For a little over a year, Flo and the team of Tokenomics DAO have been cranking out Tokenomics 101 articles covering more than 20 protocols and projects so far.
We are evolving this format to make it more accessible. Instead of just providing long-form articles we also want to break the material down and add it into an online portal: Meet the new Tokenomics Hub!
Please read on to get a quick intro and then signup for a live intro and feedback session with the core creators of the tokenomics hub on Discord. (Live meet and greet, intro, Q&A, request, and discussion of YOUR feedback.)
Do we need another token research platform?
Yes, there are many platforms to research tokens (messari, coingecko, certik, etc), BUT there is one problem they all have in common:
None of the existing research sites cover tokenomics the way we do!
Further, all of these token research sites are centralized. There aren’t any yet that source the brain power of the hive-mind of the web3 community. Tokenomics Hub will be a mix of Github, Wikipedia, and Reddit. There simply isn’t anywhere on the web to build an on-chain reputation for yourself in tokenomics and do so in a collaborative, decentralized way.
We are changing that:
Tokenomics is more than donut charts. The allocation and vesting schedule is an important piece of information to capture, but it is only the tip of the iceberg. As you know we look deep into what drives demand, how value is captured, and how the token is linked to the business model.
In the tokenomics hub we present a summary overview of the token strength. Each category receives a score and the total score for the token allows for a global ranking. We adapted this from the NGMI investor framework and other products we have built and shared.
Tokenomics Hub incorporates a new point of view. So far, we have always taken a neutral stance and tried to be helpful to investors and builders alike. Tokenomics hub focuses on investors. Therefore, we have started to formulate "our take" when looking at projects to give a short actionable summary.
Obviously, this is not financial advice. It is a condensed overview of the information that we find most relevant in the objective information that is guiding your research.
The tokenomics of projects change over time. (Think of the merge of Ethereum in the last few months.) We try to give you an overview of how things have evolved.
Need to know even more? The deep dive section breaks down supply, demand, emissions, and distribution. There is always plenty of room for rabbit holes!
Of course, our diagrams are embedded as well. We even have ideas to make them more interactive. And if you want to go even deeper, check out the resource section with walkthrough videos, articles, community talks, etc.
We are certain that we want to build a tokenomics knowledge hub. We are also convinced that this will work best if it is a collaborative, community-owned, and therefore decentralized research/discussion/learning platform. (Think a mix of the features of GitHub, Reddit, and Wikipedia.)
What we don’t know yet is what you, our valued subscribers, would like to see on such a platform to bring YOU the most possible value.
Therefore, we would like to invite you to a live session where we run through the prototype we have built and collect your feedback.
